Survival Gear

What is Survival Gear?

It is equipment with many uses: to help your stay alive in the wilderness, at home without electricity and water, or when you have to evacuate your home.Think about what supplies you would need if you had to leave your house and not have access to any usual services, such as grocery stores, water treatment, and shelter. The gear you want is what you need to stay alive and well. Much of what you need are supplies that you would take when camping outdoors.

If you are in a wilderness survival situation, you would need something to provide shelter, devices that assist with making fires for warmth or cooking, water purification devices and self defense products against animals

Why do I need survival equipment?

Many people have started to buy emergency gear to be prepared for an emergent situation or catastrophe. At any time, a disaster could occur due to destructive weather, fire, power failure, economic collapse, political unrest, or war.

The point of having survival gear is to give yourself and your family the ability to survive when civilization, order, or life as you know it changes drastically and you are forced to fend for yourself. One aspect of emergency preparedness is to build a kit with a variety of survival supplies. Many people choose to keep a home emergency kit in case of lack of services at home due to a natural disaster and a "bug out" bag in case you need to leave quickly. You may additionally want to have an emergency kit in your car. Whatever the case, the supplies you need may be different for each scenario.

Keep your kit stored in a safe place, making it accessible if it is needed during a disaster or emergent situation. Don’t wait until a disaster happens, then it’s too late. Always be prepared!
